Visit the Albany Mall Customer Service Center during regular mall hours. Albany Mall Gift Cards are available in any denomination from $20 to $500. A $1.00 processing fee per transaction applies. What is an Albany Mall Gift Card; how does it work and where can I use it? An Albany Mall Gift Card is a pre-funded Discover Network Card that can be used to purchase goods and services in participating Albany Mall retail stores, service establishments and restaurants in Albany Mall. It works basically like a debit card and can be used at all participating stores within the Mall displaying the Discover Network logo. Where can I purchase an Albany Mall Gift Card? Albany Mall Gift Cards can be purchased at the Mall Customer Service Center during Mall hours. In what denominations can I purchase an Albany Mall Gift Card? Albany Mall Gift Cards can be purchased in any amount ranging from $20 to $500. How do I know the balance on my Albany Mall Gift Card? You may obtain the balance on your Albany Mall Gift Card by: 1. Visiting the Customer Service desk at the Mall. (no charge) Does my Albany Mall Gift Card have an expiration date? The balance on your Albany Mall Gift Card is good through the “Valid Thru” date located on the front of your card. If the current date is within 30 days of the “Valid Thru” date, you may have the balance transferred to a new card. You may also return the card to MidAmerica Gift Certificate Company for a refund on the available balance. The card may be subject to a fee of $2.50 per month deducted from the Card balance beginning the thirteenth month after purchase date, where permitted by law. What if the purchase amount is more than the available balance on my Albany Mall Gift Card? To make a purchase that is greater than the amount of the Available Funds, ask the cashier if they can accept two forms of payment. If the cashier agrees, pay the difference with another form of payment accepted by the merchant (many merchants can only accept cash or check as the other form of payment), and then use your Albany Mall Gift Card to pay the remaining balance. NOTE: Not all mall merchants offer this as an option. Is the Albany Mall Gift Card valid without my signature? Albany Mall Gift Cards should be signed by the user. Merchants will verify the user’s signature on the receipt with the signature on the back of the Mall Gift Card. Each time you use your gift card the amount is automatically deducted from your card’s available balance. Because Albany Mall Gift Cards utilize the Discover Network, mall stores do not have access to the card balance information until after the transaction is completed. Your Albany Mall Gift Card’s remaining balance will appear within the authorization number that is printed on your receipt after completing the transaction. Do restaurants and salons accept the Albany Mall Gift Card? Some restaurants and nail/hair salons accept the Albany Mall Gift Card. Typically restaurants and salons add a fixed percentage (approx. 20%) to the authorization amount when they swipe your Albany Mall Gift Card for authorization to cover the tip that would normally be added to the transaction amount. Depending on the Available Funds, the transaction may be declined, or it may result in a “hold” for the additional amount. Return policies vary at every store. Please inquire about the return or exchange policy when making your purchase. If the merchant issues a credit to the Albany Mall Gift Card, these funds may not be available to you for up to 7 business days. Some merchants may issue store credits for returns. How soon can the Albany Mall Gift Card be redeemed after it has been purchased? Your Albany Mall Gift Card is typically activated immediately upon purchase.
